Resources for Coping & Contributing After the Flood
![]() |
In the wake of the devastating flooding that has impacted so many in our region, our hearts go out to everyone affected. We know some members of our school community may be grieving or supporting loved ones.
To help navigate this difficult time, we are sharing mental health and trauma resources:
- Information on the developmental stages of grief and how to help.
- American Red Cross video on how to help children cope after a disaster.
- How to help children after a natural disaster.
- Disaster Distress Helpline (SAMHSA): 1-800-985-5990 or text “TalkWithUs” to 66746.
Many local organizations are coordinating donation and relief efforts, but we are pointing people to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund. The fund was created by The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, a 501(c)(3) charity directing money to vetted organizations providing rescue, relief and recovery efforts as well as flood assistance.
Eanes ISD is unable to accept donations at our schools or district facilities due to logistical limitations and a lack of secure, staffed areas to store and distribute goods. We encourage you to use the local organizations best equipped to manage donations efficiently and safely.
